Hi! Here's a little bit about me and my love of bridge...
I started playing bridge as an adult when my parents encouraged me to learn, saying they thought I would really enjoy the game.
They paid for my first bridge class, and the rest is history!
I had a blast and started reading every bridge book in sight.
I was amazed at both the simplicity and the complexities of the game,
not to mention the wonderful opportunities that bridge offers for
fun, friendship and travel.
It is truly a game for a lifetime of learning and enjoyment!
I am now thrilled to be sharing my love of bridge with others through teaching and directing. I travel to many bridge tournaments, including most nationals, and frequently take seminars to update my teaching skills and directing credentials.
I serve as a Regional Director for the American Bridge Teachers Association (ABTA), and attend the ABTA convention every year where I have the opportunity to learn from world class players and teachers such as
Marty Bergen, Eddie Kantar, Bobby Wolfe, Larry Cohen, Audrey Grant, Zia Mahmood, Jerry Helms and many more.
I have volunteered as the Education Chair for the Northern Virginia Bridge Association, and am honored to have been appointed to the District Six Goodwill Committee
and the ACBL Charity Committee.
I am a CPA and Personal Financial Specialist. I have my own practice where I help clients with tax and financial planning.
You can often find me enjoying the beautiful underwater world as a scuba diver. I have been diving for 30 years, and became certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor a couple of years ago in St. Thomas, holding my own in a tough class with all of the cute 20 year old guys...
I am very lucky - bridge has brought me many wonderful travels and new friends.
Cruises where I have been teaching and directing bridge games have sailed to amazing places including Oslo, the Arctic Circle, Alaska, Lithuania, Romania, Estonia, Russia, Hamburg, Southampton, the Caribbean, Buenos Aires, Antarctica, Japan, S Korea, China, Myanmar, Thailand, India, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Rio and the Panama Canal!
I look forward to seeing you at the bridge table!
